Zusammenfassung

Eine der Nebenfiguren des Films Vergiss mein nicht! (Abb. 29.1), Howard Mierzwiak (Tom Wilkinson), sagt gegen Ende des Films zu Mary Svevo (Kirsten Dunst), mit der er zunächst eine Affäre gehabt, dann ihre Erinnerungen daran gelöscht hat, und die sich dann erneut in ihn verliebt hat, einen Satz, der für die folgende Interpretation leitend sein wird: »Wir haben eine Geschichte. Es tut mir leid.«
