Abstract

Sound innovative capabilities determine a company’s market value and its ability to create new value. However, only replicable, long-term innovation strategies that offer uniqueness, economies of scale, and cost savings by skill sharing can be considered true successes. In this chapter, NetApp, a global provider of innovative storage and data management solutions, serves as an example of the key elements of innovation partnerships from the point of view of technology businesses: motives, identification, management, the role of mirroring organizations, cooperation, and communication.
