Abstract

To resolve the issue that school-based training’s being low-quality and low-efficiency, the author proposed an improved design model, hybrid school-based training (HSBT), and has put it into practice in 100 high schools involving 1100 teachers in Hebei, Henan, Liaoning, Anhui provinces of China mainland from September to December, 2011. This paper introduces the design model of HSBT, and explains the performance evaluation results obtained by content analysis, video case analysis and statistical analysis methods. It can be concluded that this HSBT has changed teacher training’s paradigm, and has supported teachers’ professional development well; moreover, it is suggested that more professional learning assistants are needed to provide services for teachers’ professional development.
