Abstract

The importance and awareness of quality within organizations has grown exponentially in the last decades, and together with Excellence constitutes an essential component nowadays. This research work aims at performing an analysis of the implementation of Total Quality Management through the European Excellence Model on companies/organizations of the Autonomous Region of Galicia (Spain). First of all, and as an introduction, the importance of quality at the moment is dealt with. Subsequently, we move on to summarize the principles of Total Quality Management and the need for change in organizational culture for its implementation. The third part is devoted to briefly analyze the EFQM Excellence Model as the basis of this research, and the fourth section summarizes the results.
