Abstract
Purposes: This research is investigated the students majoring in tennis how to confront the failure of tennis competition. Methods: Using the self-designed questionnaire to investigate the coping styles of the different groups of college students of Wuhan Institute. Results: The results are showed that: the high grade students, male college students and the students whose age older than 25 are more active to cope with competition failure. The style of coping style after the failure of competition are showed that: the students majoring in tennis of Physical Education tend to choose the more positive methods to deal with the failure. Conclusions: With the development of age, the coping styles on the failure of tennis competition are more active and positive. This is also a manifestation of mental maturity. But because of gender, culture and other factors, the male and female may choose different methods to deal with problems.
