Zusammenfassung

Qualitative Forschung im Allgemeinen und die Methodologie der Grounded Theory im Besonderen haben in den letzten Jahren zunehmend Aufmerksamkeit und Akzeptanz erfahren. Der Grounded-Theory-Methodologie kommt hierbei als Forschungsstrategie und als Ensemble von Methodenelementen besonderes Interesse zu, je mehr die Frage der Theoriegenerierung wissenschaftsgeschichtlich rehabilitiert wird: Diese war über viele Jahrzehnte durch Wissenschaftstheorien – insbesondere durch die Trennung in „context of discovery“ und „context of justification“ (vgl. Reichenbach 1938) – in den Bereich des Vorwissenschaftlichen verdrängt worden. Mittlerweile wird aber zunehmend erkannt, dass in Zeiten gesellschaftlichen Wandels und von Globalisierung quantitative Verfahren nicht reichen, weil sie per Definition nur erfassen, was an prüfbarem theoretischen Vorwissen und daraus abgeleiteten Hypothesen bereits existiert. Hier sind gerade bei der eminent wichtigen Frage nach der wissenschaftlichen Zugänglichkeit von „Neuem“ Verfahren der Entwicklung von Theorien von hervorragender Bedeutung
