Zusammenfassung
Für den Begriff der Intersektionalität und die komplexen sozialen Phänomene, auf die er sich bezieht, kursieren viele Namen und Etiketten – etwa Mehrfachunterdrückungen, „multiple soziale Ungleichheiten“, „Multikulturalismus bzw. -ismen“, „multiple Differenzen“, „Diversität“, „Postkolonialismen“, „Hybriditäten“. Der Begriff hat eine lange Geschichte im Feminismus (z. B. Crenshaw 1989, 1991; McCall 2005) und wurde auf viele verschiedene Arten genutzt: um relativ feste soziale Kategorien zu bezeichnen, um solche Kategorien zu konstruieren, um ihre gegenseitige Konstitution zu beschreiben, und um Kategorien zu tran szendieren. Intersektionalität lässt sich – wenn auch auf sehr verschiedene Weise – in allen möglichen Epistemologien interpretieren. Von besonderem Interesse ist dabei die Frage, zu welchen Zeiten, an welchen Orten und in welchen Situationen Intersektionalitäten am deutlichsten sichtbar erscheinen.
