Zusammenfassung
Wie für die beiden anderen baltischen Länder gilt auch für die Darstellung des lettischen Systems der Interessenvermittlung eine doppelte Einschränkung: Zum einen ist der Forschungsstand – soweit sich überhaupt von einem Forschungsstand reden lässt – rudimentär und selektiv. Zwar liegen einige Studien insbesondere jüngerer Sozialwissenschaftler zur Entwicklung der Zivilgesellschaft und zum Wandel des Interessengruppenwesens in Lettland vor (Gurbo 2007; Grube 2007; Mazure 2007), aber detaillierte Untersuchungen zu einzelnen Verbänden existieren ebenso wenig wie zum Verbandssystem insgesamt oder zum Einfluss von Interessengruppen auf das politische System. Zum anderen sind Informationen über Verbände und Interessengruppen häufig nur schwer zugänglich und teilweise veraltet, was insbesondere aufgrund des für postsozialistische Länder typischen raschen Wandels dieses gesellschaftlichen Teilsystems zu besonderer Vorsicht bei der Interpretation zwingt und nur bedingt Verallgemeinerungen zulässt. Auch berichtet die Presse kaum über Aktivitäten von Verbänden oder Interessengruppen.
