Neue Entwicklungen in der gender-orientierten Erzähltheorie

Zusammenfassung

In jüngeren Arbeiten aus dem Bereich der gender-orientierten Erzähltheorie zeichnet sich eine bemerkenswerte Erweiterung des Gegenstandsbereichs ab. Diese besteht erstens in der Tendenz, den Kategorien der histoire/story-Ebene (d.h. Zeit, Raum, Plot und Figuren) mehr Aufmerksamkeit zu schenken, als dies in den frühen, feministisch-narratologischen Studien in der Regel der Fall war. Dem Beispiel der programmatischen Artikel von Susan Lanser (»Toward a Feminist Narratology«) und Robyn Warhol (»Toward a Theory of the Engaging Narrator: Earnest Interventions in Gaskell, Stowe, and Eliot«) aus dem Jahr 1986 folgend, lag der Fokus von Veröffentlichungen aus dem Bereich der feministischen Narratologie zunächst v.a. auf der récit/discourse-Ebene, also auf einer Untersuchung von Implikationen der Kategorien sex, gender und sexuality für Erzählinstanzen und fiktive Adressatinnen (vgl. Kap. I; vgl. auch den Überblick in Allrath 2000). Begründet war diese Schwerpunktsetzung nicht zuletzt in dem Ziel, die histoire-Zenmertheh der traditionellen feministischen Literaturwissenschaft zu korrigieren. Neuere Arbeiten aus dem Bereich der gender-orientierten Erzähltextanalyse wenden sich nun verstärkt der histoire zu — freilich, anders als die traditionelle feministische Literaturwissenschaft, mit einem inhaltlichen und zugleich narratologischen Erkenntnisinteresse.
