Abstract
Porsche Japan KK was established in 1996 as the Japanese sales subsidiary of the German car manufacturer Porsche AG. Porsche Japan imports cars and related merchandise from Germany and distributes it to the Japanese Porsche dealer retail network. Additionally it provides brand-marketing, parts supply, and customers financing for Porsche products. The annual sales turnover has been steadily growing and stands now at around 25 billion Yen (210 million Euro). Porsche Japan is fully embedded in the German parent company’s international business strategy and procedures. The company management however is “localized”: the President is a Japanese national, and out of the 55 permanent employees only 2 are expatriates from the parent company.
