Abstract

Computed Tomography (CT) is a critical tool in the pain practitioners’ armamentarium. This imaging modality provides outstanding anatomic characterization of bony structures. Injection of intrathecal contrast (CT myelography) can greatly improve visualization of the intraspinal soft tissues. CT imaging is rapidly acquired and easily performed with negligible patient discomfort. Ionizing radiation doses have decreased dramatically with newer and more sophisticated techniques.
