Effects of Analysis on the Clinical Applicability of Study Results

Abstract

The analysis of a clinical study has a profound impact on its results. In interventional studies, it is important to include all recruited patients in an ‘intention-to-treat’ analysis in order to avoid bias and lost information. All clinical research studies should have prospectively written data analysis plans created by a person with statistical expertise in order to ensure that appropriate tests are used.
