Abstract
Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is the most common chronic inflammatory rheumatic disease in adolescents and young adults (AYA). AYA with JIA have a different disease spectrum than children with JIA, different clinical characteristics than patients with adult-onset arthritis and their disease requires suitable measuring instruments to assess the therapeutic responses and health of young people. A holistic management approach is essential in the treatment of AYA in order to achieve the best possible outcome.
