Abstract
Peer-mediated interventions (PMI) are strategies to promote positive social interactions between children with ASD and their peers. In PMI peers are taught to initiate interactions with children with ASD, to respond to children with ASD, or to model age-appropriate social, communicative, and play skills. This chapter provides an introduction to peer-mediated intervention and step-by-step procedures and guidelines for implementing PMI.
