Abstract
In emphasizing the consumer perspective and subjective interpretation, the existence of luxury as an objective truth is denied. Instead, luxuriousness is seen as continuously negotiated and reproduced, both experientially and socially. Its interpretation depends on individuals. This concluding chapter summarizes the previous chapters and discusses how luxuriousness reflects interacting interpretations of the elements previously introduced. In addition, Turunen elaborates on the interactive elements discussed in the book and presents them in a model of a diamond, which emphasizes reflections and highlights the relativity of the concept of luxuriousness.
