Endoscopic Cubital Tunnel Release

Atlas of Endoscopic Plastic Surgery

Abstract

Cubital tunnel syndrome (CuTS) is the second most common compressive neuropathy in the upper extremity, surpassed only by carpal tunnel syndrome. First described by Feindel and Stratford in 1958, cubital tunnel syndrome is more common in women than in men and has an incidence of between 19 and 25 per 100,000 person-years. Although the term “cubital tunnel syndrome” is commonly used to describe compression of the ulnar nerve at the elbow, it specifically refers to compression of the nerve within the cubital tunnel, more specifically by Osborne’s ligament.
