Abstract

A 63-year-old female was diagnosed with a squamous cell carcinoma of the mid esophagus, staged as T3N1M0. She was treated by chemoradiotherapy and after a period of 6 weeks she underwent a three stage esophageal resection with a cervical anastomosis. Postoperatively the patient developed a high volume chylothorax.
