Abstract
Due to the increasing complexity that comes from exponential technological development, this paper highlights Design Thinking shortcomings when confronted with multiple, non-linear, tangled futures. The methods of Futures Thinking and Design Future, by their nature, deal with those futures and their declinations. By analysing these three methodologies, similarities and differences were emphasized. This paper aims to bring these disciplines together in order to reach a futures-ready Design Thinking that maintains its ties with the present day within the tangible realm, to avoid severing its connection with user needs.
