Résumé
La recherche en éducation médicale basée sur la simulation est une discipline jeune. Avec à peine plus de 40 ans [1, 2], l’histoire entière de la recherche en simulation est plus courte que la carrière de certains de nos collègues. Même au sein du vaste domaine qu’est la recherche en éducation médicale, le contexte de la majorité de la recherche en simulation est relativement jeune [3, 4]. Les pionniers en simulation sont toujours actifs, montrant la voie avec la première revue scientifique consacrée à la simulation en santé. Cette revue est relativement récente, pourtant elle recevait déjà l’année dernière son premier (impressionnant) score de facteur d’impact selon Thomson Reuters [5]. Une simple recherche sur PubMed avec les termes « simulation AND training » (« simulation ET formation ») renvoie plus de 11 000 références, mais cela n’indique que la moitié de l’histoire: il y a une croissance exponentielle avec de nouvelles publications tous les jours. Le nombre de conférences internationales dans le domaine de la simulation augmente à un rythme étonnant. Les réseaux internationaux de recherche en simulation montrent à quel point la recherche en simulation devient un domaine prépondérant et bien organisé en éducation médicale [6, 7]. Les revues systématiques de la littérature dans ce domaine représentent un énorme travail mais témoignent également des réalisations importantes accomplies dans ce domaine jusqu’à maintenant [1, 8–11]. Le message principal de toute cette recherche est que la simulation est efficace pour apprendre.
