Abstract

You are doing a clinical research study to establish if using your personal ultraviolet (UV) camera can make the intravenous (IV) insertion of an IV catheter easier than using the department’s ultrasound. The study is done in the preoperative holding area, in a separate room. The study is nearly completed and no clear advantage of the UV camera can be ascertained.

One day, having completed a study on a patient, you leave, as is your practice, both the ultrasound machine and the UV camera in the study area and take the patient to the operating room.
