Abstract

Salivary gland scanning using 99mTc pertechnetate provides quantifiable, physiological images of the salivary gland, demonstrating morphology, function and drainage, analogous to that of a renal scan [1–3]. Gallium 67 citrate, or labelled white cells demonstrate active inflammation.
