Abstract
The purpose of nursing education is to prepare individuals for the practice of the profession of nursing. That preparation should encompass entry into the practice of nursing as it exists on the completion of training and, as far as can be anticipated, into the practice of nursing in the future. As the use of computers and information science in nursing practice, education, and administration increases, the need also increases for nurses who possess the skill and knowledge to use and manage information technology in nursing environments.
