Abstract
Information technology (IT) is becoming an important factor in supporting enterprises in achieving their business objectives. The consequence of the rapid development of IT in manufacturing industries is that most enterprises must operate in an increasingly distributed and heterogeneous environment. Applications are no more running on just one machine but across several machines using middleware as IT-platform. Middleware are designed to ease application development, to isolate users from intricacies of IT solutions, to make applications interoperable, and to share data (Vernadat, 1996).
