Abstract
Our study of existing Android malware, including an in-depth examination of representative ones, has clearly shown that they pose a serious threat we are facing today. To make matters worse, with limited resources and battery, commodity mobile devices also pose a stringent runtime environment that is different from our desktop PCs. Such difference could preclude the deployment of sophisticated detection techniques that are developed for desktop PCs.
