Abstract

Before and during the surgery, you should make sure the cornea is kept moist (a dry cornea compromises the surgeon’s visibility). Prior to surgery you might wish to ask the surgeon if they prefer that you drop sterile balanced salt solution (BSS) on the cornea when you feel it is necessary or wait for instructions from the surgeon.
