Human Factors in Augmented Reality Environments

Abstract

Human factors evaluations have been a part of the research on augmented reality (AR) systems for a long time, but the field has not included this type of work extensively. The importance and challenges associated with conducting human factors research in AR are outlined in this chapter, with a few examples from the literature and well-known AR applications used as examples. Two suggestions are made for researchers to incorporate into their human factors research in AR.
