Abstract
Papulosquamous disorders include disorders in which inflammation causes discrete or localized papules or plaques with overlying hyperkeratosis. These diseases include psoriasis vulgaris, lichen planus, pityriasis rosea, and unilateral laterothoracic exanthem. Infectious etiologies are suspected for the latter illnesses, but the former two may also be precipitated by infections. Appearance varies significantly in papulosquamous disorders of the child of color due to pigmentary alterations and the minimization in appearance of erythema and micaceous scale.
