Abstract
Though Maccoby and Jacklin (1974) in their book on sex differences found surprisingly little differentiation in the ways in which parents socialize their male and female children, Birns (1976) and Block (1978) consider that early environmental shaping of sex-differentiated behavior in children does exist in several crucial areas.
