Abstract
This chapter focuses on the jQuery UI datepicker widget, which provides a convenient mechanism for helping users select dates. Getting date information from users is notoriously problematic because of the wide range of formats in which dates can be expressed. The datepicker widget can make it easier for the user to select a date in a way that is more consistent and less prone to errors and using a regular text input element.
