Abstract
Economic analysis of recruitment in market economies assumes that a producer’s decision to hire workers is for maximum profitability through the contribution made by labour (Reekie et al., 1991), and the main mechanism for meeting a producer’s demand for labour is coordination of the labour market (Torrington and Hall, 1987). Recruitment starts with a need for manpower as a result of expansion or job vacancies. In reality, as personnel management theory has noted, recruitment decision-making can be complicated because social, political and geographical factors, as well as economics, influence the process.
