Abstract

This chapter is mainly concerned with the actual mechanics of exporting and as such may easily be overtaken by developments. The speed of technological change in this area is such that much conventional wisdom quickly becomes out of date. This means among other things that much of the detail of documentation can become irrelevant or downright misleading. The chapter therefore attempts to explain the general principles and the alternatives available, while speculating about future developments. Specific details have to be omitted.
