Abstract
The establishment of the Skills Centre in the Department of Nursing at the University of Salford has been, without question, one of the greatest challenges faced by the department. This chapter will describe the history and the reasons for the Centre’s development. The important issue of funding will be discussed, along with the identification of the key players and the role of the NHS Trusts. The teaching, learning and assessment methods used will be described, and the chapter will conclude with an overview of future planned developments.
