Abstract

Considerable emphasis has been put so far on identifying needs. It will by now be clear that this is not a simple matter. Students’ needs are complex and largely unknown to them; often there are feelings that are hard for them to express. Even though what they say is not a safe guide as to what is really important for them, they should always be encouraged to articulate their perception of need.
