Deconstruction and reconstruction

  • Chapter
Nursing in Conflict

Abstract

The processes of the Griffiths reorganisation have involved a dramatic change in management philosophy, or as theorists would say, a change of London School of Economicsculture’. This means that new shared values and perceptions have to replace earlier ones. The most fundamental change is the reversal of the ‘top down approach’ (Griffiths, 1983 (para. 12d)), and a movement away from functional management hierarchies (Griffiths, 1983 (para. 29)).
