Abstract
The theme of this chapter is the control and regulation of employees. This in itself is not limited to reprimanding deviant behaviour but can be considered in the arena of standards and quality assurance, as well as in the traditional personnel setting. These principles are not unique to nursing, or indeed health care, but can be applied to any organisational setting where the management of people is necessary.
