Abstract
Knowledge management process has become extremely popular in recent years. The process progresses on the acquisition, organization, retention, storage, dissemination and reuse of knowledge in an organization. Consequently, a suitable strategy is drawn towards a convenient deployment process that aids the need of individual users to dramatically extend the reach of know-how facts. Recently, the process of applying tacit knowledge to solve the business problem has been well formulated with the help of information technology. However, conversion of tacit knowledge to explicit knowledge has become challenging and it requires a powerful leveraging mechanism. One of the organized approaches that are emerging to help knowledge management process is the e-learning. The techniques associated with content management, activity management, support management and assessment of e-learning are observed to be in line with the process of knowledge management. Hence, the practices associated with the e-learning can be very well extended to knowledge management. In order to infiltrate into the idea of mapping the process of e-learning into knowledge management, a study is performed to highlight the commonalities existing between e-learning techniques and its applicability towards knowledge management.
