Zusammenfassung
Motivation und Ziele sind zentral, wenn es um regelmäßiges Sporttreiben oder um das Erbringen sportlicher Leistung geht. In diesem Kapitel werden daher zunächst diese beiden Begriffe definiert und verschiedene theoretische Ansätze dargestellt und erläutert. Dabei wird vor allem ein Fokus auf leistungsmotiviertes Handeln in Verbindung mit sportlichen Zielen gelegt und es wird aufgezeigt, welche Instrumente zur Messung von Zielsetzungen eingesetzt werden können. Ferner werden motivationale Orientierungen und das motivationale Klima beschrieben. Im letzten Teil des Kapitels wird darauf eingegangen, wie Motivation im Sport gefördert werden kann, wie ein positives motivationales Klima geschaffen werden kann und wie man damit umgeht, wenn Ziele nicht erreicht werden (können).
