Video Transcript

So we left off. We created the Nebula layer here. And we’re going to create a– yet another layer by duplicating this one– Command- or Control-D. This one is going to get renamed to Meteor. We’re going to make that orange. There we are.

And I’m going to move the play head on this. We’re going to go to 15:18 or thereabouts. Let’s get in position here. Here’s that marker. And I want to bring this play head just a little bit ahead of that so I could see that effect.

And then I will twirl it down, once again, because I want to be right on the key frame again, that second key frame. So I’ll just position it like so. So it’s coming in right around 15:14. And there is where it’s going to sync up with that position.

So let’s change some of the parameters on this. The preset we’ll change to Meteor. There’s Meteor. That’s a totally different look there. And the glow intensity is going to start at 15%.

So that’s going to be that first key frame. And we’re there already, 15%. The core size is 1. The core softness, which isn’t currently key frame– I’m going to twirl that down. And I’m going to make the core softness have a 12.6 setting. Here we are. Scale at 19%, core size 1, position 9, 45, 12– that’s all set right now.

Then I’ll go forward one key frame, this time with my K key. So make sure I’m clicked on these key frames here. Hit the K key to go forward a key frame. There we are. And these settings here will be– the core size is going to remain the same. The glow intensity, however, is going to be quite a bit more. There’s 122– so a big increase in the flow intensity.

We’re going to make an adjustment also to halo size. So I’m going to key frame that. That’s going to be at 930 now. And then I’m going to do a position– slight change in position here.

I’m going to move it over just a little bit away from the beam, like so. That ends up being 490 and 437. And the scale– once again, 117, 129.5. Core softness is going to go up to 25%. So that does that effect there.

Then I will go forward another key frame. I can just use this button here or, actually, I should go back with my position here, a couple, because there’s– in a position key frame right there. So that position’s going to change a little bit. And see, it’s kind of leaking over the side there. I might just have it come out more like that.

So that’s the 479, 454 now– one more key frame for position here. You can see it’s kind of also fading out over time. And the halo size is going to drop down to 400%. So we’re going to get a halo size key frame there, too. And then the final key frame here– these will change to 0 and 0 for core size and glow intensity.

So let’s take a look at that. Scrub through that, see what’s happening there– fades away. That’s all good. And next, we’re going to add one more effects layer called Fractal in the next video.
