Description

Higher education is offered by public and private institutions. Some of the institutions offer a wide variety of programmes, while others specialize in specific areas.

Stages of studies

University level first stage

Bacharelato/Licenciatura

The minimum time needed to complete a Bacharelato is three years. Generally, students with Form five or equivalent qualifications can take this degree programme after passing the entrance examinations offered individually by institutions. The programmes are offered by universities, university level institutions, and polytechnic/ professional institutes. The minimum time needed to complete a Licenciatura is four years. Students with Form six or equivalent qualifications can take this degree programme after passing the entrance examinations offered individually by institutions.
