Abstract
Longe graduated from Oriel College, Oxford, in 1854 and joined the Bar in 1858. He was associated with the Children’s Employment Committee, served as Inspector of the Local Government Board, and was private secretary to Lord Goschen, president, between 1868 and 1870, of the Poor Law Board (Hollander 1903, p. 3).
