Abstract

Tibor Scitovsky was born in Budapest. He received a degree in law from the University of Budapest and a degree in economics from the London School of Economics. He migrated to the United States in 1939 and served in the US Army during the Second World War. He taught at Stanford, the University of California at Berkeley, Yale, Harvard, and the London School of Economics. He also worked at the OECD from 1966 to 1968.
