Abstract

Salin was born in Frankfurt am Main of Jewish origin. He studied in Heidelberg with Max and Adolf Weber, Eberhard Gothein and others. He became a university lecturer in Heidelberg in 1919, and in 1927 he was appointed professor of political economy at the University of Basle (Switzerland).
