Abstract
Spann was born in Altmannsdorf (Austria). He studied social sciences, economics and philosophy in Vienna, Zurich, Berne and Tübingen, became professor at the Technische Hochschule Brünn (Moravia) and transferred after World War I to the University of Vienna.
