Abstract

Schmookler was born in Woodstown, New Jersey, in 1918 and died in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1967. In 1951 he received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a student of Simon Kuznets. He subsequently held teaching positions at Michigan State University and the University of Minnesota.
