Abstract
Born in New York, Anna Schwartz received her education at Barnard College and the Graduate Faculties of Columbia University. Aside from a few years of research at Columbia University, she has been associated throughout her career with the National Bureau of Economic Research. She was also the Staff Director of the US Commission on the Role of Gold in the Domestic and International Monetary Systems in 1981–2.
