Structure of Higher Education System
Public higher education is provided by one university, composed of several faculties, institutes and schools. There are also several private institutions.
Stages of studies
University level first stage
The first stage of studies leads to the Licence in three years. In engineering, the Diplôme d’Ingénieur can also be awarded.
University level second stage
The second cycle leads to the Master in two years. In medicine, the state degree of Doctorat en Médecine is awarded after six years’ study
University level third stage
The third cycle leads to the Doctorat in three years following the Master
