East Lake Landscape in Wuhan

This is China’s largest urban lake. It is located in eastern Wuchang in Wuhan City, and it has an area of 33 km²with twisting shorelines and clear views. It was given the title of ninety-nine turns, where 34 of the turns are along the bases of peaks. There is abundant rainfall and sunshine. The moist weather and undulating landforms composed of plains, lakes and mounds support abundant plants species. More than 250 plant species have been identified, including trees, such as cedar, Metasequoia, pool cedar and camphor, and more than 390 species of woody and herbaceous and aquatic flowering plants, such as plums, lotus, Osmanthus, cherry blossoms, azalea and chrysanthemum. The plum and lotus are the most famous flowering plants. East Lake is suitable for tourism for the entire year, and it is famous for having ‘spring orchids, autumn Osmanthus, summer lotus and winter plums’.
