This is a granite landscape that looks like a large dome that is composed of a granite mass at an elevation below 1,000 m. The surface of the dome is smooth with abundant parallel ditches on the curving surface. The landform looks like a stone waterfall; and hence, some researchers call it the ‘granite waterfall landscape’. It is often found at the base of granite stocks, and the sparse joint sets, high rock density, chemical weathering and rain erosion are the main factors in the formation of this landscape. Typical examples are Shenlingzhai National Geopark in Luoning, Henan, and Fengkai National Geopark in Guangdong.
