This is another China’s important and well-developed geologic section. It is located in the Dale area in Xiangzhou County, Guangxi Province. It includes the three stratotype sections and related rock strata of the Sipai Stage of the Lower Devonian Series and the Ying Tang and Tung Gang Ling Stages of the Middle Devonian Series. The Devonian Sipai Stage section mainly consists of biolithite, dolomite and shale. Its bottom boundary is not defined, and it contains four fossil assemblages of brachiopods and corals that are roughly equivalent to the Upper Emsian Stage on the International Stratigraphic Chart. The Ying Tang Stage of the Middle Devonian Series contains mudstone and limestone in its lower part and limestone and marble mixed with mudstone in its upper part. Its bottom boundary is not defined, and it contains two fossil brachiopod zones and is roughly equivalent to the Upper Eifelian Stage on the International Stratigraphic Chart.
