This book was written by Jin Huang and was published by Science Press in 2010. The name and term ‘Danxia landform’ originated in Danxiashan, which is located in Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province. The book describes the research history of the Danxia Basin, the geological basis for the formation of Mount Danxia, and the internal and external forces associated with the formation of the Mount Danxia landform and its characteristics. It divides Danxiashan into nine geomorphological areas and explains the landform characteristics of each area. The nine geomorphological areas are: the main Danxiashan area, Shaoshi area, Yunulanjiang (Jade Lady Blocking the River) - Yangyuan Stone area, Jiemei (Sister) Stone - Upper Tianlong (Heavenly Dragon) area, Ba Zhai (Village) area, Mount Guanyin (Goddess of Mercy) - Dakeng Zhai (Big Pit Village) - Mount Shinao (Lion Brain) area, Mount Fenghuo (Wind and Fire) – Changwo area, Wumaguicao (Five Horses Returning Trough) area and Yamayan (Duck Gneiss) area.
